Ingredients
-
2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
-
1 (15 oz) jar Alfredo sauce
-
1/2 cup sour cream
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
-
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
-
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
-
1 cup frozen peas (or broccoli florets, optional)
-
1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
-
1 tablespoon olive oil (for greasing the dish)
-
Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with olive oil or non-stick spray.
Step 2: Mix the creamy filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine the Alfredo sauce, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and frozen peas (or broccoli, if using). Stir in the cooked chicken until everything is well-coated.
Step 3: Assemble the casserole
Pour the creamy chicken mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it into an even layer. Arrange the frozen tater tots on top in neat rows, covering the surface completely.
Step 4: Bake until golden
Place the casserole in the oven and bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy and the filling is hot and bubbly.
Step 5: Garnish and serve
Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, use less sour cream or add a bit of cream cheese.
- Can be assembled a day ahead and baked fresh—just add 5–10 minutes to the bake time.
